Bodywork for Movement Explorations

I offer massage and bodywork to facilitate relaxation, emotional relase and healing.

I am trained in the fundamentals of Swedish and  deep tissue massage. My work is also informed by my study of  bioenergetics--a study of energy flow and holding patterns in the body-- and  Jin Shin Do, a study of acupressure combining the meridian system of Chinese  medicine with the bioenergetic study of holding patterns. My work is also  deeply influenced by my study of touch and re-patterning through the School for BodyMind Centering which includes all the body systems: the fluids, the
organs, the musculo-skeletal system, nerves, etc. I am trained to touch the  subtle rhythms and patterning in each of these systems, and to support  healing on the cellular
level.

Massage stimulates blood flow and  helps the healing and repair of injured tissues. It can also help the body  recover its balance of sympathetic and parasympathetic branches of the nervous system: those in charge of our “get up and go” and our “rest and repair,” respectively. Thus, therapeutic massage can be helpful for anyone
recovering from injury or other stress to the body, and for those seeking to  reduce their stress in general. Furthermore, the acupressure points are based on Chinese medicine’s map of larger energy flows that underlie our health and well-being. Many find work with these points to be deeply  relaxing, nourishing and energizing

I offer a safe place for those who wish to explore bodywork to facilitate their emotional and psychological healing work. Bodywork can be very helpful for those who have recognized a protective pattern of disconnecting from their bodies and who wish to explore the process of reconnecting. It can be helpful for those who have recognized
patterns of exhaustion and depletion and who want to cultivate nourishment and increase their capacity to receive. It can also be helpful for those whose experience may have been dominated by pain--physical, emotional or both--and who wish to ease their pain and expand their capacity to feel pleasure.
