Payment by check or cash is expected at each session unless special arrangements are made.
Cancellations
Please give at least 24 hrs. notice of cancellation of your appointment in order to avoid being charged for the session which is reserved for you. You will be charged for the appointment if you cancel within less than 24 hrs. Illness and acts of God are excepted.
Phone Messages and Consultation
You are welcome to leave voice mail or email messages for me between your sessions as the need arises. Please use the number and address below:
Phone: 301-589-0390
email: [email protected]
I check my phone messages frequently throughout the day, but may check my email less frequently. I can usually return your call or message within 24 hrs., and in most cases I can return your call the same day. If you do not hear back from me in 48hrs., that's a good indication there was a cyber-snafu, so please try again.
If you are a current client and need me to call you back, please say so in your message, otherwise I will usually wait until your session to respond to your message.
If you are experiencing an emergency, please say so in your message so I will know to return your call as soon as possible.
If you are a current client, I am available for you to touch base with me briefly (up to 10 minutes) by phone about an important issue at no charge.
If you need to speak with me for a longer period of time, I will do my best to schedule a phone session with you. The fee for phone sessions is pro-rated according to the hourly fee, and charged by the quarter-hour.
You are encouraged to discuss with me whether phone sessions may or may not be helpful to you in your overall therapy process since this is something that can vary quite a bit from person to person.
Emergencies
If you experience a psychiatric emergency and cannot reach me, call your nearest hospital emergency room.
